Chiropractors are trained experts who focus on the spine and the neuro-musculoskeletal system, and how conditions affecting these areas can affect your health and performance.
What is Chiropractic
A profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders affecting the musculoskeletal system, particularly involving the spine and its effects on your nervous system.
Chiropractic is the largest natural health care discipline in the United Kingdom and is regulated by the General Chiropractic Council.
Our approach is to remove nervous system disturbance, usually along the spine, although we may also be interested in what your feet or hips or shoulders are doing. To restore your ability to self heal, or maintain your ideal health.
We recognise the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health care practitioners when in the best interest of the patient. There are obviously limitations to any practice and there are times when pharmaceuticals or surgery may be appropriate.
McTimoney Method Technique
The McTimoney approach to chiropractic was developed by the late John McTimoney over 50 years ago. It is well known for being a whole body approach to chiropractic care using light, quick and specific adjustments. Most people experience little or no discomfort when receiving a McTimoney Method treatment.
Rehab and functional movement
‘Movement is medicine’. Usually following each appointment we will suggest some movements focusing on getting you back to optimum function. The movements may include some specific exercises or stretches, strength or agility. We will always work with you on these so you have a full understanding.
After your appointment we will send a follow up email with links to the information we have provided and any suggested functional rehabilitation movements or advice so that you always have it to hand.
